Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine has been under constant air attack, and civilian areas and critical infrastructure keep getting hit. Allies have helped strengthen air defence, but it still can’t cover the whole country, especially against threats that fly low.

ePPO turns anyone in Ukraine with a smartphone into an air observer. People report missiles, drones and aircraft the moment they see them, and the reports go straight to the military.

Users sign in through Diia, the government app, so every report comes from a verified person. When they see something in the sky, they open ePPO, pick the right icon, point the phone at the object and press the button. The app works out its speed and trajectory and sends the location and data to the armed forces.
